Elton John

Informational piece: blog

Elton John was born as Reginald Kenneth Dwight learned piano at the young age of four. His parents Sheila and Stanley Dwight got divorced when Elton was young. His mother re-married Fred Farebrother, who Elton nicknamed Derf. When he was 11 he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of  music but after 6 years went by he decided to drop out to start a rock career.

He had started a band called the Corvettes and that led into Bluesology, a group that included Elton John, Rex Bishop, and Mike Inkpen. They played many places and got money from performing. That money helped pay for Elton's first electric piano.

In1966 Elton John left Bluesology and auditioned as a lead vocalist for King Crimson and Gentle Giant. Sadly, he didn't make it through. But it was just a couple years later that his talent would be discovered. He was auditioning for Liberty Records as a song-writer when he met Bernie Taupin and  a strong partnership began.

he changed his name from Reginald Kenneth Dwight to Elton Hercules John in 1972. Where did Elton Hercules John come from? A saxophonist named Elton dean and Hercules came from the British T.V
. show Step-toe and son.

Elton john has produced a lot of albums including: Empty Sky and Crazy Water. Elton has performed with celebrities like Lady Gaga and has received many awards at Grammy’s. He has succeeded in his music career amazingly  and will hopefully stay singing.
